Here is another epic poem of the week from Alexandra Crane. I am sure you will agree she is a hugely talented poet!
\nCheck out her poem below that teaches us to stand up to bullies!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dinah Dinosaur was kind and sweet,
\nthe friendliest monster you could ever meet,
\nbut on her first day at her new school,
\nshe met Mallory Mouse, a creature so cruel.
\nNow Mallory was a bully, small and mean,
\nin fact, out of all of the bullies, she was the Queen,
\nand when Mallory did not like someone, here\u2019s what she would do-
\neverything she possibly could to pick on you!
\nSoon Dinah\u2019s life became a misery,
\nno matter how nice to Mallory she tried to be.
\nHer hair would be pulled and she was left out of games,
\npushed in the playground and called horrible names.
\nMallory would copy her homework and steal her possessions,
\nthen threaten Dinah with abuse and aggression.
\nShe would steal Dinah\u2019s friends by telling wicked lies,
\nuntil Dinah was made to worry and cry.
\nSoon Dinah felt so sad and low,
\nthat school was the last place that she wanted to go.
\nShe became quiet, nervous, anxious and scared,
\nfearing Mallory all the time everywhere.
\nUntil one day, Dinah saw, that she had shrunk and gotten smaller,
\nwhilst Mallory had somehow grown bigger and taller,
\nand soon seeing that the mouse\u2019s bullying was the reason that she grew,
\nDinah realized what she must now do.
\nAnd so one day, brave and bold,
\nthe truth about this bullying Dinah told.
\nAll this was said to her Mum and Dad at home,
\nAnd soon Dinah did not feel quite so alone.
\nHer parents helped Dinah to tell her teachers who promised that,
\nthey would keep a close eye on Mallory to catch her in the act,
\nbefore giving Dinah some important advice to help her through,
\ntelling her \u201cit\u2019s the bully who is the coward, not you.
\nBullies hide behind hurtful words
\nto make themselves seem less absurd,
\nso do not listen to what they say,
\npretend you do not care and walk away.
\nWhen you see your bully, walk tall and proud,
\nand try to stay within large crowds,
\nso you are seen as unafraid in the bully\u2019s eyes,
\nand so you have the protection of people from close by.
\nYou could even trying telling the bully on your own,
\nto stop bullying you in a calm and clear tone.
\nBut remember, show no fear and don\u2019t forget,
\nto tell someone that you are being bullied is the first and most important step.
\nSo do not keep the truth inside,
\nfor the bullying will only get worse if you try and hide,
\ntell a parent, a teacher, or even a friend,
\nand then we can help to bring this bullying to an end.
\nWith this support, advice and help,
\nDinah began to stand up for herself,
\nand soon she let Mallory see that she would no longer be pushed around,
\ninsulted, belittled, hurt or beaten down.
\nAs she did this, Dinah grew tall once more,
\nwhilst Mallory shrank back down to the floor.
\nFor the little mouse could see that she was no longer a threat,
\nand that her bullying ways no longer had their desired effect.
\nAnd so, in the end, Mallory Mouse was left forgotten and ignored,
\nWhilst Dinah Dinosaur was able to play, laugh and roar!<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
