We all love the feeling of finding a great book but how often do we share these books with others. It would be great if the stories we love became the stories our friends and families love. So share the stories you’ve enjoyed with your friends and family. Get your parents to show you’re their favourite stories from when they were your age. It’s likely, if you have similar interests, that you will like the same books and then you can enjoy them together.
For parents, it’s just as important to read in front of your children as it is to read to them. There are so many people who say lead by example and this couldn’t be truer when it comes to reading. If your child sees you reading, and enjoying it, then they will be more open to reading and be more enthusiastic about learning to read. Don’t just share your book; share your enjoyment of books and see where it takes them.
